The short version
Topplio is a game, not a data business. There are no ads, no in-app purchases and no accounts, and we never sell your information. Your progress is saved on your device, and we only see what you choose to send us.
Topplio is made by Daniel Bramhall in the UK, who is responsible for your information here. Questions: hello@topplio.com.
In the game
- Save data (progress, stars, rescued friends, best scores, outfits and settings) stays on your iPhone, iPad or Mac, and is included in your device's own backups. It isn't sent to us. The game has no analytics or tracking of its own.
- Game Center: if you're signed in, your scores and achievements go to Apple's leaderboards, where other players can see your Game Center name. Apple's privacy policy covers this, and you can sign out in Settings.
- Daily reminder (iPhone and iPad, off unless you turn it on): we use Apple's push notification service and Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging to send one notification a day at 10:00 your time. Your device gets an anonymous push token, Firebase gives the app an installation ID it uses to deliver messages, and the device joins a group for its time zone (for example UTC+1). No name, email, location, scores or play data is sent. Turn it off in Settings > Game > Daily reminder, or in your device's Settings, and the device leaves that group.
- Emailing us from the game (Settings > About > Email) opens your own mail app with your Topplio version, device model and system version in the subject line, so we can help faster. Nothing is sent until you send the email yourself.
- Sharing: when you tap Share, your device opens its own share sheet with a line of text and a link to this website. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose where it goes.
- App Store: Apple may share anonymous crash reports and usage statistics with us if you've agreed to share them with developers. We use these only to fix problems.
On this website
- The support form sends your email and message, plus the other details you fill in (your name, device, the part of the game, your system and Topplio versions, how often a bug happens, or a star rating), through Formspree to our inbox. We use them only to reply and to improve the game.
- Google Analytics runs only if you choose Allow in the cookie banner. It then counts visits and button taps, using cookies and your IP address to tell visits apart. We see totals, not who you are. Change your mind any time with Cookies at the bottom of every page. Choosing No thanks stops it and clears its cookies.
- Your choices on this site (your cookie answer and your best score in the background game) are saved in your browser only and never sent to us.
- Server logs: like any website, our host briefly keeps standard logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) to keep the site running and secure.
Keeping it and your rights
We keep support emails for as long as we need to help you, and up to two years after, then delete them.
We use your information because you chose to contact us, or, for analytics, because you agreed to it. We never sell it or use it for advertising.
Formspree, Google (Analytics and Firebase) and Apple may process information outside the UK, including in the US, under their own data protection safeguards.
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or object to how we use it. Email hello@topplio.com. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the ICO.
Children and changes
Topplio doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top.
